As the author of this website, I hope you enjoy learning of my quest for a new vessel, and a little of the logistics of purchasing a vessel from a distant location. I will attempt to take you through a good portion of the experience with me.

In January 2001, I sold my previous boat (a Newport 30 designed by the late Gary Mull) and immediately started my search for her replacement. Having sailed with friends on Sabre 34's in the past, I had already decided some time ago that my next boat would be a Sabre 34 MK I of the 1980 to 1985 vintage. I had been searching the market for several years now, but I was not about to get caught in that age old trap of owning two vessels.

After having looked at approximately a dozen Sabre 34's up and down the east coast as well as the Great Lakes area, I decided that a trip to Yarmouth, Maine to look at yet another Sabre 34 was in order.

So, welcome aboard and come along with me as I begin my quest for my dream vessel. Hopefully you will learn a little about getting my boat to my home port from 660 plus nautical miles away, some of the maintenance issues as well as upgrades and other interesting projects.

This will be an ongoing project and I hope to update it whenever I have anything significant to add, so please stop by occasionally for updates.
